In order to hold a garden wedding ceremony in
Victoria you need to get permission from the
relevant authorities. If its a public park, garden or
reserve the best place to start is to ring the local
council, In most cases they can help you, if they
cant, they will be able to tell you who controls
permits for that area.
There are also lots of private gardens, winery's
and reception centres that have beautiful
gardens and are more than happy to let you hold
your wedding ceremony in them for a fee. There
are hundreds of options for a beautiful garden
wedding location, you just have to find the right
one for you!
Garden Wedding Starting Times
Any time of the day is beautiful for a garden
wedding. Its best to visit your wedding location a
couple of weeks before your wedding date. Make
sure you go at the same time as your ceremony
will be, that way you can see where the sun is and
where the shade is and decide on the right
location according to the position of the sun.
Weather for Garden weddings
While we all dream of our garden wedding being in
the glorious sunshine at 24 degrees with not a
breath of wind, unfortunately it doesn’t always
work that way. So have a back up plan in case of
bad weather, whether it’s an alternate spot, a
venue close by or even your reception centre. It’s
a good idea to outline your back up plan to your
guests, so they know the drill if the weather turns
nasty. In the case that this does happen we will
do our best to setup your decorations at your plan
B location.
